Indigo iTunes Plugin & Music

Hey folks

I've done just a bit of testing with the latest versions of Catalina and the new Music app. Apple has restored the ability to control the new Music App from the Remote iOS App, and in doing so, has enabled Indigo, via the current iTunes Plugin, to now control Music on Catalina as well.

One note... my test was running Indigo Server on Mojave, and the Music App (on a different computer) in the 10.15.2 version of Catalina, but I'm assuming the Indigo Plugin will work when the server is running in Catalina as well.

For me, this is a bit of good news!

Great news!

I'm tempted to try this on a test box over the holidays.

That would be great news. Nice to see Apple having backwards compatibility every now and then. Kind-of a rarity lately.

I'm very surprised to see this, but happy at the same time. Does the plugin appear to be working fully/correctly now that you got it paired?

So I did just a bit more testing this AM,... still haven't done EVERYTHING the plugin can do, but all functions I did test worked exactly as expected. Data from Music is populating the fields correctly in the plugin, and all the controls... play, pause, next track, volume control... all seem to be working.

Perhaps it's time to clone the plug and give it a new name? lol

LOL. Nah, I'll probably just change the name in the next release to "Apple Music/iTunes" or something...

Though, Apple Music means something different. Stupid Apple and their naming confusion...

Just another data point. The plug-in works perfectly for me...at least at the basic level. I can see all the data and display it on a control page. Going to try the controls next. I'm running the latest version of Indigo and Catalina 10.15.2

Can someone here help me get indigo to play a song on a schedule.

First I need help in pairing the Music.app to Indigo.

And then I need to start a song.

Thanka

I've updated the plugin's docs with an added screen capture of what the Music app will look like when attempting to pair with Indigo.
