What does "save current speaker states" actually save?

I'm creating an action group to play an announcement over some speakers with Airfoil. I have a number of actions (see the attached screen shot).

What I would like to do is for the "save current speaker states" to save the current volumes of the speakers, but it doesn't appear to do so when the states are later restored.

So what "states" are exactly being saved with this command?

Thanks Jay. So there's no way to "push" the current volume onto a stack, do some fiddling, then "pop" the previous volume?

Sure there is - you can do it in a script. Just take the actions you outline below and run them in a script instead.

Jay, sorry for being dense, but I don't see a "getVolume" action here. If I can get the volume and put it in a variable in the script, I can manipulate it, do what I need to do, then restore it back.

It's a state in the speaker device, so you just get it from there. Save it off, do all the other stuff, then set it back to the saved value.

Thanks for the hint. Of course, the states...

Alright, I have a script that does what I want to do, and it works. Thanks Jay!
