No I would do +/- in indigo, and then send absolute commands so there is no way to get out of sync, even if the vaux box is unreachable. Although I still haven't tested the hardware yet - it's supposed to be in the mail.
Using variables is a great idea for reflecting the state of a zone, etc. Wil you use a text box eg on off for a zone, or create bright/dark buttons for instance depending on the zone or source state?
If I get ambitious I will make custom graphics but initially I was just thinking boolean indicators for each thing. Applescript would be used to switch off the other input indicators when a new one is activated.
