Need help: linking control page to remote process via XML

As to what commands are available: this is in a document that Matt emailed me. I don't know if it's intended for public consumption so you should get it from him.

From where? If you want to use the GC-IRE (via ethernet<->rs232) I have support for that. Otherwise you will need to write a POE component that talks to your source of IR events. Eg via a pipe or socket.
