trying to control battery powered lights via RF

I am working on a project that requires the control of 13 battery powered lights (led) with a mac computer. There is no power for the receivers or the lights besides batteries.

Is it possible to hack a insteon product to run on batteries?

What other problems might I run into?

THANKS FOR ANY AND ALL HELP!

Can you share any other details on what you're trying to accomplish?

Are they wireless-controlled battery powered lights? If so, you'll want to take apart the transmitter, put a contact closer in there (like an I/O Linc) so that when you set the I/O Linc to closed it duplicates the turn-on button press on the remote.

Depending on the transmitter involved, this can be easy or next to impossible. It almost certainly requires soldering.

Good luck! I'm going to be doing something similar with remote controlled tea lights. It's on the list. :+D
