Safari interaction with Indigo Web Pages

I first noticed this with my own web pages, but it is happening now with http://goprism.com:8000/controlpage?name=1st_floor. While viewing this page with Safari, the bottom part of the browser window flashes every second with the text, 'Loading "http://goprism.com:8000/controlpage?name=1st_floor" <n> of <n> items', where n increments once per second. For the page above n starts at about 44 and increments forever. While I have been composing this message it has gone to 174. I have not verified this with other web browsers; I think I will right now....

Nope Firefox does not do it.

I _did_ type "n of n+1" but the brackets were misinterpreted by the message editor as html and the "+1" got deleted.

This is to be expected. You are seeing the JavaScript browser code ping the server to see if any controls/icons need to be updated. I guess Safari is the only one that shows these requests are happening, but they definitely do occur under-the-hood with Firefox as well.

Matt
