Ring flood/freeze sensor 05010101 usage in indigo

I picked up a pair of Ring flood/freeze sensor's on amazon for $70. These seem well made and might actually survive getting wet. They even have a built in gasket. They included into Indigo 2021.1.2 with ease and show up as a notification sensor. They report battery status each hour without problem. I'm unable to receive the flood/freeze notification from the devices, nor will they respond on a status request.

Has anyone been able to get these working?

Thanks for the sync report – we'll add it to the queue to be supported. In the mean time take a look at this forum thread for creating a Trigger on the raw command for when water is detected. Let us know if that technique works.

This does work. I created a trigger to look for the packet:

0x01 0x0F 0x00 0x04 0x00 0x51 0x09 0x71 0x05 0x00 0x00 0x00 0xFF 0x05 0x02 0x00 0x20

I wasn't able to "see" a reset transmission but that might be the device itself.

Thanks for the tip!

Can you tell me if I need to have the Ring Security System or does Indigo take its place?

Thank you,

Nat

Hi Nat,

Indigo + a USB Z-Wave controller (Z-Stick, for example) is all you need.

Thank you. That is what I thought but I wasn't sure. After all these years I am still a basic user.
