Official Somfy support

If possible I would love to see official built-in support for Somfy MyLink devices!

Re: Official Somfy support

There are a couple of ways of communicating with RTS products already I believe. But, it might be a good opportunity for a 3rd party depending on interface hardware and an open API. Not enough demand for us to address directly I'm afraid.

[EDIT] it looks like maybe it's only integrated into Control4, which implies the API isn't open/available.

No problem! I've actually had really good luck with the suggestions from "norcoscia" here: viewtopic.php?f=113&t=21904 It's a learning process, but it's always easier once you've waved your magic wand and make it built-in! :D Thanks for a great product in Indigo though!!

Re: Official Somfy support

I actually have a half written Somfy plugin which one user is helping me with.

I can’t remember what state it’s in at the moment but I’ll dig it out in a few days.

viewforum.php?f=284

Not touched other than fixed version and logo ready for when it goes in the Indigo Store - which won't be yet.

Happy for you to start a thread in my forum and talk to me.

Won't be committing time to it fully for another month when I hope to return to the boards "full time".

Re: Official Somfy support

Just curious, going through the MyLink or directly to another interface controller?

I have heard anecdotally that the MyLink is limited to simple up/down commands and doesn't have commands to set the travel distance. Not sure if that is Mylink or Somfy limitation.

Also, Mylink has limited number of channels, so for large house you would need multiple units which gets expensive. Not sure if the Somfy repeater would help in that.

It’s using MyLink.
