Pause Variable Window Updating

It would be extremely useful to be able to pause (on demand) the updating of the Variable Window when viewing it.

If you have a lot of variables that have a high frequency of updating, the window freezes from time-to-time and scrolling is frustrating.
I am assuming that it is the updating that is interfering with the viewing?

I am experiencing this on an iMac (2017) 4.2Ghz i7 16Gb.

I do wonder if you have that many variables getting updated that often, maybe whatever scenario that's causing that kind of update is better suited to a plugin device. Maybe there's already one out there or maybe one could be built.
