Web Site Feature Request

As you probably know, Safari introduced pinned tabs back in El Capitan and I've been wondering when Indigo would incorporate the line of code needed to make the pin's icon proper rather than a generic letter. I find myself using pinned tabs more and more as I find them quite useful. Here is a good article on the "new favicon" required to make the pins have the Indigo logo.

Re: Web Site Feature Request

If it were just one line, we'd do it. Unfortunately, it's not (we tried it). It requires new images and probably lots of testing to get it right and honestly just isn't worth the effort given all of the other feature requests we have.

Hmm, I'll have to play with a test web site to see if I can dial that in. I've never really done it on any of my sites either so I'm equally as lax in this department :D.

I'm sure someone here can sort those icons for your Jay, then it does simply become a one line code.

I messed with it for about an hour just to see what it would take and it does get complicated on the image file. I stuck a pin in it for now.

Anyone can feel free to use our existing images to create a new image - we'll gladly use it (assuming it looks good!).

Just an FYI -- and this might be coincidence -- with Mojave, the favicon shows up just fine. Who knows if that was purposeful or not (I'm guessing purposeful.)

The favicon is now showing up for me on High Sierra with Safari 12.

Re: Web Site Feature Request

Hopefully they fixed the odd spinning beachball and the "too many redirects" bugs that were in all the beta releases of Safari 12. Super annoying, and even more annoying that once you installed the beta is was near impossible to go back to 11...

And, yes, I am also seeing the icon in the tab bar now.
