Context menu - device dump

Sure would be nice if I could right click on a device in the client UI and select a menu item that does:
Code: Select all
indigo.server.log(unicode(indigo.devices[xxxxxx]))

Re: Context menu - device dump

Sure would.

I think the utilities plugin goes 3/4 the way there but I agree with the request.

Not saying that this is necessarily a complete alternative, but my Multitool Plugin does this. "Object Dictionary..."

The convenience of a context menu from the devices list is going to win. ;). There's probably a number of things in your plugin that would be SO much more convenient if available from a context menu.

Oh I agree.

Several of the things in this plugin are simply things that I got tired of retyping. :D

Re: Context menu - device dump

There's probably more than one good reason not to do this......but what about a 'ContextMenu.xml' file where lines could be added to the context menu that were hooked to method calls?

Hmmm. Callbacks to a python file/method? Maybe if that process had read-only access to the device data. Interesting idea. Could probably work.

Thanks!

Karl also has one. They both do some similar things, but mine includes tools I routinely use when developing and debugging.
