Can I use a UUID for a camera vs URL

In my control page I am using the URL to access the camera. Can I use the UUID and if so what is the format?
If not, is it recommended to assign the cameras a static IP?

Thanks

I'm not sure I understand the question, but if it is a URL to the Web Server built into the camera then the format of the URL will be totally dependent on how the camera has it defined.

I don't know of any way to use the UUID to define a camera, except if you're using Security Spy. Even then, I think that only works for telling Security Spy where the camera is on the network, not where it is as a resource for an Indigo Control Page.

SmartThings refugee, so happy to be on Indigo. Monterey on a base M1 Mini w/Harmony Hub, Hue, DomoPad, Dynamic URL, Device Extensions, HomeKitLink, Grafana, Plex, uniFAP, Fantastic Weather, Nanoleaf, LED Simple Effects, Bond Home, Camect.

DC, thanks.

So is the only way to lock in the camera is to make it a static IP address?

Matt,
I have it set that my cameras reboot every week. Occasionally they will bounce to another address and then get seperated from the Control Page.

Use a DHCP Reservation in your router/DHCP server, not a static IP address.
