Inconsistent Action Group Auto-off action

I'm seeing some weird behaviour

I am probably missing the obvious.

But I have created an Action Group to turn on the Printer - well the Power to it.
It has an auto Off action set to 10 seconds (for testing purposes) the intent is to have it an hour so it is not sitting in standby for weeks until the next person needs it.

That works as expected, no issues.

But when I put an Alexa control on it the auto off is ignored.

Anyone any ideas on how to get the auto off to work when invoked through Alexa.

Shouldn't the auto off work however it is invoked?

Re: Inconsistent Action Group Auto-off action

If you are using the Alexa-Hue Bridge V3 then you can invoke the action directly from the plugin without having to use a virtual group.
It is probably easier that way - check out the documentation in the WIKI on how to set it up: https://github.com/IndigoDomotics/alexa-hue-bridge/wiki/usage#configuring-an-alexa-Hue-bridge

Doesn't answer your question directly though. :)

btw - The documentation refers to V 3.0.16 which I will release shortly but can in the meanwhile be downloaded from the main GITHUB page for the plugin. :)

Yes it should as long as it's invoked using that action group. You'll want to make sure that all the parts in the chain are configured correctly and repeat the test. For instance, when you did the test before perhaps the action group didn't have the action configured property? Or perhaps the alexa published device wasn't the correct one?

Re: Inconsistent Action Group Auto-off action

Ok

I knew I must have missed something..

and @autolog highlighted it.

I had Actions setup to do this but the Alexa was directly addressing the device.

All fixed thanks
