Random errors...

I run an action group to turn exterior lights on and off in the morning and evening. Generally it runs ok but I randomly get errors like no acknowledgment. But I also get Error "Pool Shed Pathway LEDs" off; failed (PowerLinc not in module's database -- try the Define and Sync process in the device dialog) even though it runs fine at other times. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Re: Random errors...

Just had it happen again with different devices, the stairwell light and deck light. Then when I ran it again a few minutes later it worked fine.

Re: Random errors...

Looks like in addition to that failure (PowerLinc not in module's database) you are also getting a lot of 'no ack' error messages. My guess would be either a signal problem or you have a module failing (most likely PowerLinc, but it is possible another module is failing and causing some systemic problems on the entire network). You might want to try temporarily plugging the PowerLinc into a different outlet on a different circuit. Quickest way to do that is with an extension cord. If the problems don't occur at all (or as frequently) then the Powerlinc is probably fine (and it is signal noise or some other module causing a problem).

Have you tried performing the Define and Sync operation again as the error log suggests? If the problems are intermittent that isn't super likely to help, because if the PowerLinc really wasn't in the module's link database then the commands would always fail to that module. That said, it wouldn't hurt to try it to see if it helps. You can copy/paste the event log results of the define/sync so we can see if anything looks suspicious.

Re: Random errors...

I did do the define and link again. I have a Insteon Range Extender 2992-222 that is displaying a lot of network activity even when the nothing is happening. Suspect it may be failing.
Should this devices also be defined in Indigo? When I try to add the range extender I get an error that "no match found for device type ID 29 with firmware version 42" even after a hardware reset. My Smarthome 2443 Access Point did successfully add to Indigo.
If the problem continues after pulling the range extender I will start isolating devices trying to narrow down the bad module.

Re: Random errors...

The range extenders don't need to be added to Indigo (and as you saw Indigo doesn't recognize them). They automatically repeat commands without Indigo needing to be aware of them.
