[SOLVED]Can't get Schedules dialog working

I created a Schedules event to trigger a siren when motion detected at Sunset every day of the week, but i can not get it working.

Lat/Long of my house and so Sunset/Sunrise time are correct.
I use my Motion Detector for another Triggers Dialog and it works. So my Motion Detector is OK.
When i test my Schedules event after Sunset no notification is seen in the Event Log.

A bug in Indigo or simple a confused user?
Any idea what i should check/do?

Re: Can't get Schedules dialog working

I believe the description of what you're looking to do isn't entirely accurate:

trigger a siren when motion detected at Sunset every day of the week

That means that exactly at sunset if motion is detected the siren would sound - but I don't believe that's what you mean. So, let's start by clearly describing what it is you want to do, then we can figure out how to implement it.

Re: Can't get Schedules dialog working

Hi Jay, from your question you are asking me i already have the feeling that i misunderstand the purpose of one of my settings.

This is what i want:
I have a Motion Detector at the front gate.
When it detects someone between Sunset and Sunrise it must trigger a siren.
This must happen everyday in the week.

This is how i set up,
1.Schedules => Schedule => Name: Warning :Time : Sunset
2. Randomize by +/- 7 minutes
3. Date => Days of week => every day SMTWTFS (grey back ground)
4. Repeat => Every week

1.Condition => Any of the following rules are true => if device : Motion Detector : On/Off is On
2. Action s => Type: Turn On (Light/Appliance Control) Device: Siren/Strobe (AM1601)
3. Checked Auto-off after 3 seconds.

There must be a wrong setting somewhere, but i have no idea what setting.

Re: Can't get Schedules dialog working

you must have motion as trigger not as condition. sunrise .. sunset (=dark) is the condition.

create trigger MOTION: trigger if motion, condition dark

that should do it and there should be thousand other ways to do it..

Re: Can't get Schedules dialog working

Yep, Karl got it right. You don't want to trigger off of Sunset-Sunrise. Rather, you want to trigger off of the motion then associate a condition of "Is dark" (that's between sunset and sunrise) that will keep the actions from firing if it's not dark.
