Trigger not working as expected - Thermostat issues.

Hi all,

I have a situation here. I have heated floor that is also capable of cooling, but the thermostats I have only allow for heat mode. So I devised a strategy to use the thermostats to cool using Indigo that goes as follows:

Trigger: If thermostat X zone temperature "becomes greater than" Y
Condiition: If time is between 9am and 20pm; If variable "summer mode" is true
Action: Set heat set point to 30C

This forces the thermostat to close the contact that opens the floor valve. I also have another trigger that sets the set point back to 20C once the desired temperature is achieved, which then closes the valve.

The problem: If the temperature on the specific zone is higher than the specified temperature in the trigger at 9am, the trigger is never executed.

Am I interpreting the way trigger works in the correct way? If not, is there a possible solution for this?

Cheers,

Rui

I would do it the other way. Run a schedule every 5 min (or so) between 9 and 2, and check the temp in the conditions.

Hi, yes a Schedule would probably work, will need to investigate further, thanks.
