Re: Some triggers are in red in trigger list

Hi Matt,
This seems like how my current issue started. AD2USB alarm zones stuck on red, had to delete and reenter them to clear the problem, then it grew to plugin failures on the AD2USB, Cynical SecuritySpy, and Cynical Weather. The AD2USB interface is really slow lately, it had been an instant trigger, now it takes 10-15 seconds to trigger an action. As you saw from the alarm log I sent, it just ties up the whole system and makes it virtually unresponsive. I'm still working through the combinations to figure out what's going on, so ideas welcome.... It always happens in the middle of the night, and I can't predictably correlate it to any schedules or activities. The z-wave error your mentioned in your note is always the some door lock, and it's been happening since I implemented Indigo, so no change there.
Thanks, Ron

Can you open the Terminal app and copy/paste in the following then press return:

Code: Select all
cd /Library/Application\ Support/Perceptive\ Automation/Indigo\ 7/IndigoWebServer
ls -al
cat IndigoWebServer.conf

And then copy/paste the Terminal window results into a reply for me.

Indigo and SimpleControl Hub are the only 2 things that I use it for and that are running.

And your network interfaces and how/if they're being used?

Ethernet cable to network switch. Network switch to router. No wifi.

Re: Some triggers are in red in trigger list

Don't think it will help, but try adding another return key press at the end of the second line in the .conf file then restart the Indigo Server.

Re: Some triggers are in red in trigger list

I'll try that and let you know. But there is something else very weird that I am seeing here and I noticed a few times recently but didn't give it much thought.

When I login to the Indigo Mac Client from a different computer than the server Mac mini (same LAN), it is showing me that INSTEON/X10 Powerline Interface is down. It is in red crossed out at the bottom.
Yet when I look directly in the Macmini's client, it shows me green and working.

On the remote computer I am still able to control lighting even though it shows as down.

It's almost as if there are 2 separate indigo servers running together.

As for the extra line break, I just tried that but no changes.

Re: Some triggers are in red in trigger list

The interfaces showing disabled/red is a known bug. We have it fixed in an internal build and it will be included in the next release.

That isn't related to the iOS app disconnect problem. And just to verify: you see the same problem when accessing the Control Page from Safari? Does it have the same failure threshold (starts failing after loading 16 camera images)?

And if you duplicate the page and make it have just around 12 cameras do both Safari and Indigo Touch (iOS app) work?

Re: Some triggers are in red in trigger list

Well it is a little harder to tell, because in the browser, it doesn't give me the purple bar at the bottom that indicates that the connection was lost like you have in Indigo touch iOS app.
But it also seems like it is stopping after 18.

But I played with it a lot last night, and occasionally, it doesn't disconnect. I would say 1 out of 20 attempts works. Which tells me that it isn't a setting. Or maybe it is a setting, but something else is also using the network and hogging up the resources.

Re: Some triggers are in red in trigger list

Just an update, I found the problem.
My cameras are on a 2012 MacBook Pro. The indigo connects to this Mac to get the camera views for the control pages.

Well the battery in the MacBook Pro was bad and it was bulging and pushing the trackpad out. It was like that for a while. One day I was at the apple store and asked them what it would cost to change the battery. They said that they no longer make that battery, and that they can remove the battery for me, and the laptop would just run on AC power.
What they neglected to tell me is that when you remove a battery, the Mac thinks that it is just a bad defective battery, and as a result they use a feature built into Intel CPUs that drastically reduces CPU speed. It is called "SpeedStep". This is why it was working so slowly and indigo was timing out.

Unfortunately, there is no real way to disable speedstep. There are some hacks out there, but nothing seemed to work. Amazon sells 3rd party batteries, so I am going to put a battery in the MacBook and that should bring the CPU speed back.
