Replacing X10 appliance module replacement

I have two X10 appliance modules left in the house and a Smartlabs Lamplinc. After a recent power outage, both the X10 modules stopped working but the Lamplinc still works. I ordered a new appliance module but it behaved in the same way. Two questions:

- What is a suitable replacement for X10/Lamplinc when controlling appliances (whole house fan, landscape lighting transformers)
- Any thoughts as to what went wrong

Thanks

Re: Replacing X10 appliance module replacement

We recommend replacing X10 with Z-Wave devices - there are a ton more with lots of vendors. Check out the on/off plugin module section of the supported devices list.
