Monoprice Door/Window sensor (WADWAZ-1) behavior questions

Hi all,
I just purchased and installed a bunch of these (purchased used). Had some minor issues on some of them but think all are working well now. Only thing is, they don't respond to user-initiated status requests, but DO update on the regular schedule (hourly). I noticed the UI says these requests are not supported by all devices so I'm thinking this is one of those that don't support it.

Can anyone confirm that?

Also, I assume the tamper status remains in the ON position (until manually turned off) to alert the user that tampering has occurred?

Thanks,

Jim

Re: Monoprice Door/Window sensor (WADWAZ-1) behavior questio

Hi Jim,

If they are battery operated then they won't support status requests since they'll be sleeping to conserve the battery. And correct on the operation of the tamper alert, although that is module implementation specific (some modules will reset the tamper state automatically).

Thanks, Matt. That all makes sense.
