GE Solo Scene Remote

I'm trying to setup this remote https://byjasco.com/ge-enbrighten-z-wav ... mote-white to do something simple and it's not so simple. I want to set it up so that when you press the top button my fountains come on, and when you press the bottom button the fountains turn off. All I'm able to setup is Any Command Received. I can't figure out what i'm doing wrong.

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

Re-sync it in Indigo, then press both buttons a few times and copy/paste the Event Log results of everything into a reply for us.

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

Inside the Z-Wave configuration dialog (Interfaces->Z-Wave->Configure... menu item), turn on the Debug logging checkbox then press both buttons again a few times and copy/paste the results into a reply for us. You can then turn off the Debug checkbox if you want.

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

I just looked at this in more detail with your Indigo sync results (event log) and the manual for the module. Unfortunately, despite the module name it doesn't appear to support either the Z-Wave Scene Activation command class or the Central Scene command class. For Indigo (or the Z-Wave Scene Controller plugin) to detect which buttons are pressed it requires the module to support one of those two command classes. We used to see multi-button modules like this years ago but in general they don't work well with 3rd party hub controllers. Most newer multi button modules support the Central Scene command class which makes it easy to detect the individual button presses (and then create Indigo Triggers for them).

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

Well that’s disappointing. Thanks for clarifying this though! I’ll hang on to this for maybe a future project.

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

I’m late to the party here.

I just looked to see if I could add support for this to the Scene Controller plugin but it’s not possible.

The remote needs directly pairing with a.n.other Zwave device that you want to control.

If you have any old/disused switches or for example a double Fibaro light-switch module where you’re only using the first input/output, you could pair this with that device, then have Indigo trigger on the on/off state of that device.

I seem to have the same problem with a HeatIT z-button 4 controller.
copy-paste from the event log doesn't do the trick.

It works fine as a controller for physical devices (with an adress), but i can't get it to activate an action group.
Also not via the Z-wave scene controller plug-in.

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

Stick either a Zwave Watcher (plugin) on it, or enable Zwave debug per Matts instructions above.

Press some buttons and paste the results

Re: GE Solo Scene Remote

That should work out of the box with Zwave Scene Controller.

New trigger > Zwave Scene Controller event > Scene Command Received

Pick your device in Device 1.
Leave 2-4 empty.
Button ID is 4 for the button you pressed
Action is Click.
