Disabling Communications save device battery?

Hi,
Wondering if disabling the communications for a device saves the device's battery energy. For example, I could leave a motion detector communication enabled all the time, or I could just enable the communication at the times when I need it to be active, like when sleeping at night. Would the later approach conserve battery power?
Thanks, Tom

No - it will continue to broadcast out changes. Indigo will just ignore those messages. The disable is from Indigo's perspective, not the target device.
