Motion Sensor and Pets

Does anyone have a creative solution to pets setting off motion sensors? My cats know when the morning feeding time is so they come upstairs to wait in the kitchen. This often sets off the motion sensor which switches my house to awake mode. I would like to sleep a bit later on weekends but my cats have not figured out that feedings on Saturday occur later than Monday.

Short of getting rid of the cats - any other creative solution?

Re: Motion Sensor and Pets

You could have one schedule for weekdays and one for weekends. Or maybe an "I'm sleeping in tomorrow " command that can be triggered from the bedroom that disables the schedule for a day.

+1 - on the weekends use a different trigger or different actions

Re: Motion Sensor and Pets

What type of motion sensor are you using and how is it connected to indigo?
Most duel tec motion detectors (Infrared / microwave) can be set up to ignore pets under 60 pounds
They do need to be located so the pet can't get within 6 feet of the detector. Cats can be a problem
since the like to jump and climb on things.

Here is a sample of detectors listed on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss ... N+DETECTOR

Are these only hard wire or do they have a battery option?
