[Answered} Question about Timers

I'm playing around with some timers and am slightly confused about the difference between "start" and "restart". Reading the Wiki didn't help.

I'm setting a timer to run when a particular motion sensor is triggered. I want the timer to reset to its default starting time whenever it senses motion, even if its already doing a countdown. I thought that using "restart" rather than "start" would do this, but it doesn't seem to be working that way.

Re: Question about Timers

Hi Jeff,

Restart should restart the time back to its original countdown duration. You can see exactly what Indigo is trying to do by enabling the debug logging (via the Plugins->Timers and Pesters->Configure... menu item). Copy/paste from the Event Log window the results showing all of the timer actions for that timer (start, restart, and stop) and we can help troubleshoot the problem.

Re: Question about Timers

Thanks Matt. That's the behavior I was expecting. I'll do a bit further testing, but for now we can call this one "Answered".
