[ANSWERED]: Z-Wave Greenwave 5 Port PowerNode

Hello everyone,

I bought this 5-plug device to replace some single plugs I have and as with Murphy's law my current Z-Wave stick refuses to add any new device (or delete existing ones) so I have to create my home database from scratch...

Anyway, I added this device among the first as it was not part of my existing Z-Wave network.

indigo recognised each outlet and the energy metering capabilities.

When though I have it on polling setting "Only When Activity Detected", I get warning flashing lights from the PowerNode like it is out of range but it is not as indigo can turn on/off sockets, see the current load, etc.

If I put it to "As Often As Possible" there is a lot of traffic... Z-Wave blue light constantly flashing... What is the best setting...? Every 5 mins? Something else?

Thanks!

Kostas

Re: Z-Wave Greenwave 5 Port PowerNode

I've got one of these, and I get the same terror, even with the poll interval set to 5 minutes. Albeit it's not constantly flashing, but is often enough to be annoying. I'm guessing it's a firmware problem. The power meter functionality seems a bit dodgy on low power loads as well. I'm just considering where I ought to stick something over the power indicator, or just send it back.

Thanks Paul!

For the annoying lights with most devices I've found a work around using these little things. They do make a difference!

Have a look here: viewtopic.php?t=13698

The default timeout value seems to be 2 minutes, hence why a 5 minute poll won't work.

You can set zwave parameter 1 (which controls the timeout) to be anything up to 255 minutes - I've set mine at 240 minutes which is 4 hours, just to be a nice number. I then poll I think every hour.
