[ANSWERED]: Fibaro FGMS-001 incorrect lux value

Hi,

I like my new Fibaro FGMS-001 Sensor, but there's a problem with the LUX value. The FGMS-001 is always below value 10, sometimes a bit higher. I don't know which firmware the FGMS-001 has and i do not know how to update this.

Are there users here who have this problem to?

Thnx

Regards

Re: Fibaro FGMS-001 incorrect lux value

Application Version: 2.06 is the firmware version; 2.06 equates to 2.6 which is the latest firmware version AFAIK.

If you do a forum search for 'Fibaro' and 'Lux' you will see numerous postings regarding lux related issues. A lot of these posts are commenting on the 2.04 (equates to 2.4) firmware and how going to 2.06 (equates to 2.6) resolved the issue. However you are already on the latest version.

My suggestion would be to try resyncing the device and remove the battery and then after a short delay put it back in again. I have had one of these (firmware 2.6) play up and removing the battery did the trick.

Hope this helps :)

Re: Fibaro FGMS-001 incorrect lux value

Hi Jon,

I searched and found the answers related to an older firmware, but mine is a newer module...

I'll try your suggestion and give a reply.

Thnx!!

Re: Fibaro FGMS-001 incorrect lux value

I just tried holding my under a lamp and moving it around and got these results:

Code: Select all
Z-Wave                          received "080 - Luminance" sensor update to 18 lux
Z-Wave                          received "080 - Luminance" sensor update to 20348 lux
Z-Wave                          received "080 - Luminance" sensor update to 17362 lux
Z-Wave                          received "080 - Luminance" sensor update to 1382 lux
Z-Wave                          received "080 - Luminance" sensor update to 3234 lux
Z-Wave                          received "080 - Luminance" sensor update to 7 lux

Mine is also firmware 2.06. What do you have for the luminance settings? I have mine set to the defaults, so for report sensitivity it is 200, and change reporting interval is 900.

If yours has the same settings and the exclude/include didn't work, then the only thing I can think of it is marginal/malfunctioning.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Fibaro FGMS-001 incorrect lux value

I have one of these newly installed with firmware version 2.06 and my lux readings are way off. I can put mine next to an aeon labs multi sensor which generally has good readings and Fibaro is low by around 200 to 300 lux. I didn't buy mine for the light sensor so I really don't care right now.

Re: [ANSWERED]: Fibaro FGMS-001 incorrect lux value

I wanted to update some additional observations.... I had to purchase a digital light meter for my job and I checked the meter against the Fibaro Sensor and it turns out my Fibaro readings are within +/-5 Lux of my light meter. So the Fibaro appears to be accurate and I would conclude my first generation aeon labs sensor readings were way high.
