New Mac (Big Sur), Indigo 2021, Powerlinc Issues

Hi All

I just upgraded my Mac and moved my license over to the Big Sur OS, from my Catalina setup. I can't seem to figure out why Indigo won't connect to my Powerlinc. I've tried unplugging and replugging, restarting, factory resetting the powerlinc... nothing seems to work. Wondering if anyone has any ideas...

Thanks
Marco

Check to make sure you have the right serial port selected. The OS upgrade might have changed the names.

Also, you might need a serial driver. I'm not sure which interfaces require an additional driver.

Hi

This is the USB version of the powerlinc...

Although the config screen does have the usb port labeled as serial...there's only one option for me, and that's "usbserial-A906XN7L". I transferred the license and loaded up my old mac (catalina) and it seems to work fine. I'm wondering if maybe the powerlinc is too old?

Power cycle the device sometimes does it.

Does the version sticker on the PowerLinc say 2.5 or something older? We've had reports that v2.5 works better on some Macs because of an upgraded FTDI chip (used for serial to USB conversion internally).

Some things to try:

• Power cycle it (as Karl suggested)
• Factory reset it.
• Try different USB ports, including ports on any USB hubs you have.
• Try plugging it into an extension cord and trying multiple outlets on different circuits. This will help rule out a power line noise issue as the culprit, which has been known to confuse the PowerLinc enough that it starts to fail to properly communicate with Indigo.
