Indigo 7.3.0 restarting server every 2-3 minutes

I just installed 7.3.0 on a Mac Mini running 10.13.6. It updated my database, started up, runs for 2 minutes then the server dies. If I restart it, it dies again.

I see nothing unusual in the Indigo logs, but some strange things in the console logs:

I'm attaching a log of the console filtered for Indigo, but I have no idea where to go from here. Is there a better crash log I can send for assistance with getting it running again? Now that it's migrated/converted the DB, I'm kinda stuck with failing forward. I can restore my latest whole-disk image of the server if it comes down to that.

Re: Indigo 7.3.0 restarting server every 2-3 minutes

Hi Steve,

Email us (indigo-support AT indigodomo.com) the most recent couple of Indigo related crash report files from:

/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/
/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/

Also email us the most recent couple of Event Log files from Indigo itself:

/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.3/Logs/

Re: Indigo 7.3.0 restarting server every 2-3 minutes

So. Playing around a little more.

- If I start Indigo, then turn on "Check email every 10 minutes", Indigo doesn't crash like it does when I had that checked on startup.
- If I leave the option checked, quit indigo, and restart the server, it will crash every time within about 5-10 minutes
- If I start Indigo and uncheck the "Check email every 10 minutes" option, Indigo will run indefinitely.
- If I change the Indigo Preferences | Email settings, reset all settings, quit and restart the app, and reset them back to what they were before, Indigo still crashes

I still can't get or send mail.

I'm seeing the following in the logs:

Code: Select all
May 6, 2019 at 8:29:22 PM
Trigger                         Bench Seat Opened - Send email
Error                           SSL handshake with SMTP email server failed (-2)
Error                           email re-send scheduled in 10 minutes

Is there some kind of debug mode I can turn on to help try to figure this out?

Thanks!

Steve

Have you looked at the Better email plugin? It is far superior to the built-in email. Matt or Jay even said it was better in a post elsewhere.

Nope. Never heard of that at all. I'll take a look at it now to see if I can get through this.

Thanks for the tip.

I think maybe you didn't get my reply email. I sent a reply on 5/3 with some suggestions (including the Better email plugin). I'll re-send that to you now.

You are correct. I didn't get the 5/3 email. I will install and reconfigure to use that plugin over this coming weekend.

And thanks to you, support, and the community for such a fantastic product, help, plugins, and sharing opinions and ideas. It's amazing how much I've come to rely on the ecosystem that I've built out over all these years,... :)

I converted to the "Better Email Plugin" and disabled all the embedded email messages (man, I created a lot of cruft over the last 10 years). Thinks are working flawlessly again!

Thanks to all for the tip/suggestion to switch. I guess it's time to go look through the Plugin library again. It's been awhile... :)
