Custom Images not showing up

Have uploaded to

/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 6/IndigoWebServer/images/controls/variables

But my images are not available as an option for display Variable status as, only the stock icons. Are PNG's out of Photoshop the way to go? Attaching file examples.

Thanks,
Noah

Re: Custom Images not showing up

Any png should work. Maybe it's not named correctly?
image+.png for a base image. image+on.png, image+off.png etc. for others.

Re: Custom Images not showing up

I'm not sure this is documented as it should be, but did you quit and relaunch the Indigo client? That will force it to reload the images.

Yep- quit and relaunched a few times- not only do they not show up but even duplicating a built-in image and renaming it fails to appear as an option for variables.

Re: Custom Images not showing up

Have you tried restarting the Indigo server? I know that has thrown me a few times as the server seems to cache images - although that never has caused a new image to not appear on the list for me, but if I save a new image to an existing name I have to bounce the server or it will always show the old image. You don't have to restart the box itself but just inside of Indigo stop and start the server.

Re: Custom Images not showing up

Now this is strange- if I name the two files:

MailReceived01.png
MailReceived02.png

They show up as options for the attached variable.

If I name them:

MailReceived+true.png
MailReceived+false.png

They are not available as options. Any suggestions?

Re: Custom Images not showing up

MailReceived+.png would be the false one. MailReceived+true would be the true one.

Re: Custom Images not showing up

Dave is correct :D

From the documentation - Image Selection Heuristics :
To signify that an image should use these more complex image heuristics (described below), end the base file name with a “+”: ImageName+.png. The “+” at the end is a hint to the Indigo Web Server and Indigo Touch that it may need to contact the server for the right image.
So what this is saying is that Indigo won't do any heuristics searching on a group of images unless there is a base image filename in that group that ends in a +. This has caught me out on a few occasions

+1

When doing variables the first default image must be ImageName+.png, not ImageName.png.

So, to be sure I understand it correctly; If you have a variable or device state with custom values that you want to display through an Icon, any state value (as in Burning Up, Hot, Warm, Just Right, Cool, Cold, Freezing, if I define a variable based on Heat Index/Chill Factor from my weather station for example) that you want a specific picture for needs a png named "Icon+<state value>.png" for each state you want to see differently...AND there needs to be a simple"Icon+.png" that's going to show up whenever the state of the variable doesn't match any of the other Icons.

Re: Custom Images not showing up

I've been trying everything in this thread to no avail.
Custom images once worked fine for me with heuristics but now after multiple client and server restarts I can't get my new added images in the variables directory in the variable pop down list.

Help please.

Thanks,

Mike

Re: Custom Images not showing up

You stopped the Indigo Server and quit the Indigo Client and they still don't show? If so, what version of Indigo are you running, and where specifically (full path) did you put the images, and how are they specifically named?

Re: Custom Images not showing up

Hi Matt,
Yes stopped server and quit Indigo client several times.

Running 7.4. Heres the file path t the images
/Library/Application Support/Perceptive Automation/Indigo 7.4/IndigoWebServer/images/controls/variables

Thermostat Heat Status 2x+.png
Thermostat Heat Status 2x+true.png

Also tried On instead of true.
