Did Indigo make a change to how sleep is handled with V7?

Re: Did Indigo make a change to how sleep is handled with V7

Am I the only one reporting this issue. My system keeps getting sleep commands seemingly randomly. Happened on consecutive days, then all good for about 10 days, now happened again today. Looking at Indigo log, sleep at 4:55 PM, awake at 5:50. This is all based on logs - no one noticed the machine off and it was on/awake when I came to check it,.

As Matt points out above, this is not a new thing (for macOS). Search the net for "prevent mac from going to sleep" and you'll see lots of articles on things to try.

Some users have reported that resetting the SMC on their Macs helped.

I tried the SMC reset. Also discovered my Time Machine backup was malfunctioning. While it was backing up without issue (or so it seemed), the backup disk was full and was getting "stuck" when I tried to replace a file with an older backup (I could not get any older files to show). I finally removed the drive and my system seems peppier now (it had been having issues at startup - would take over m10 minutes to get through loading startup apps and internet working - now its normal, Will see if the sleep stops. Way too soon to tell.

Re: Did Indigo make a change to how sleep is handled with V7

I made it from April15 to May 2 without my Mac going to sleep on its own. Unfortunately it happened again this evening at 5 PM or so when so one but my wife was home. I have no idea what causes the seemingly random sleep commands nor how to trace the cause.

A little checking to try to ascertain what is going on. From Indigo log:

May 2, 2023 at 5:11:39 PM
Received INSTEON "Laundry Room" off

Code: Select all
May 2, 2023 at 5:12:22 PM
Received INSTEON                "Logan bedroom" on to 100% (instant)
   Received sleep notification from system
   Closed connection to PowerLinc 2413U
ShellyMQTT                      Stopping "Upper Hill Lights MQTT"...
MQTT Connector                  MQTT Broker Connector: Stopping Device
TP-Link Devices                 Polling stopped for Basement Bathroom Overhead@192.168.1.240.

So issue happened at 5:12:22 PM.

Looking at the console for things that happened around that time: There is a "SiriSearchFeedback" diagram report that occurred at that time. Double-clicking on that reveals the following (and I have no idea what it means - just that the timing matched the Indigo sleep command:

Code: Select all
{"bug_type":"313","timestamp":"2023-05-02 17:12:00.00 -0400","os_version":"macOS 13.3.1 (22E772610a)","roots_installed":0,"incident_id":"42CDEE6E-FD0C-4FC8-B6E4-E31D8642D3BD"}

Not sure if this is helpful information - but it does show that the machine went into some kind of sleep. I finally awakened by clicking the mouse after 7 hours. Screen was dark until I awakened.
