Monterey

It won't be me, but has anyone tried the new MacOS Monterey with Indigo yet? Yep, I know it was just released today.

Re: Monterey

I will only upgrade past 10.14 when the "M2 SuperFastestEvar" Mac Mini is released to replace my 2012 I7 Mini. :D

Re: Monterey

It works so far, but homebridge failed.

Re: Monterey

There is a UI bug which we're investigating, but you can avoid it by keeping your home window small (possibly shrinking it back to it's smallest size before quitting the client may work).

From the server side, we haven't identified any issues as of yet. I don't recommend upgrading, because there are almost always bugs in the first several OS releases, but the risk is yours...

Re: Monterey

Homebridge not working is a concern. IIRC, there is nobody maintaining the HomeKit Bridge plug-in.

Re: Monterey

Hi Folks,

If you are already running Monterey on your Indigo Mac, then give this pre-release version of Indigo 2021.1.2 a try. We believe it should fix the UI problem (in the main window).

Re: Monterey

Homebridge didn't work for any Plugins, not only Indigo.

But I fixed it by installing nodeJS LTS!

The update fixed the layout issues.

Re: Monterey

Just upgraded to 12.0.1 and everything came back normal for me. I did notice a message that Indigo something (server I think) needs to be updated for the future. Seems to work fine right now.

Running Indigo 2023.2 on a 24" iMac M1), OS X 14.4

Apple scare tactics. It doesn't effect Indigo on Monterey.

16.13.0

17.0.1 makes it fail instantly.

Are you using the HomeKit Bridge plugin? How did you upgrade Node JS to fix it?

Ok, waitasecond. Node JS is for the true HomeBridge server.

HomeKit Bridge plugin is different.

The HomeBridge server runs separately from indigo completely. The HomeKit Bridge plugin runs while in Indigo.

Here's the trick: HomeKit Bridge just GUI-fy's the HomeBridge, and folds it into Indigo as a plugin. However, HomeKit Bridge Plugin isn't being maintained anymore, not since December 2019, HomeBridge is. So there are capabilities that HomeBridge has that HomeKit Bridge may not (like Scout Home Security, for example.)

Who cares?

Well, For me, I run both, the HomeBridge for the Security system, specifically. So I need to be sure my NodeJS is workable with Monterey, or I can't automate my Security system.

Here's how to do the NodeJS thing: https://nodejs.org/en/

It involves a little UNIX Terminal...
