DomoPad Widget and OFFLINE voice controlled ?

Hello Adam,

Sending out a huge Thank You for the continued development of such an awesome app!

1. Would you consider creating DomoPad to offer additional widget options? I would like to have a widget of a "light toggle" on my desktop. So far it works by creating an Action Group and to have that on the phones desktop, but I cannot change the widget icon to reflect a light or something. Perhaps if I could find a way to simply change the widget icon I would be good to go.

2. Also I heard some chatter on the XDA forum that Ben who is the creator of the Android "Utter!"app may be opening the app to open source!

Not to add more to your creative plate but this may be of some interest to current and future users of DomoPad. I already use the Utter.app along with Tasker to voice automate some Indigo actions. Yes this process does require some setting up and it does require you speaking into your handheld device.

With that being said I like this option as I still dont feel very comfortable with mega companies like Google, Amazon, and Apple having data of my home related usage! While I may not be hiding anything I lean toward the added awareness from Snowden! The thought of one of these mega companies having a listening device in my house is very unsettling. Not to get on a soapbox!

DomoPad with some type of Utter integration would be beyond sweet!
Just sayin!

Thanks for your ear :D

An interactive widget is something that I have considered multiple times... however, the issue is in updating / keeping it up to date. Network activity is a quick battery drainer, so I don't know how real-time the current status could be. This could lead to a not-so-great user experience (e.g. "Let me check if the lock is locked... yup!" 1 minute later it updates to the real current status of unlocked).

DomoPad with some type of Utter integration would be beyond sweet!

I'll research it but no promises, I've never heard of Utter to be honest...

Hello again!
For quick access I really enjoy the widget feature which allows for creating Action Group shortcuts onto the home screen
Is there a way to activate these AG shortcuts via Tasker once they are on the home screen?

It has been years since I used Tasker, but IIRC there is a way to launch an arbitrary Intent, correct? If so, is there any option to specify "EXTRAS" within the Intend that will launch?

I'll try to capture you what you'll need for the EXTRA in order to execute the action. I am pretty sure that we can execute it that way... not 100% positive, but pretty sure.

As a student I'm going to stand in this position until the teacher arrives...

Re: DomoPad Widget and OFFLINE voice controlled ?

I still haven't been able to figure out exactly how to represent the "Parcelable" object in Tasker's intent. If you want to play around with it, the only value that is technically needed is "indigoItemId" (a long int representing the Action Group to execute). There are other values that may or may not be stored (empty). The issue is that I can't "see" it in the same format that Tasker is wanting it represented.

I can see about adding a new option to simply pass in the ID as a number if you can't figure out how to represent it...but maybe the Tasker forum/support can provide a sample Parcelable format for you?

Okay... I don't have Tasker so can't really test this, but assuming you have the latest version installed (specifically v1.5.3), you can give this a try...

Extra:
IndigoActionGroupId:[ACTION_GROUP_ID]

Let me know how it goes...

Hello,
I took pause on this approach, and have not returned to figuring it out.
