Insteon 2477SA2 replacement

My second unit has gone dead and it seems Insteon no longer makes this controller. And suggestions for a WiFi controlled 220V 30 amp relay that is Indigo compatible? I have been moving to TP-Link Kasa modules, but they dont have one. Also used some Shelly relays but they can't do 30 amp. Prefer not to go the Z-wave route if possible - dont need another technology introduction.

One think I saw was the ELK-9200 - I could control that with an Insteon switch or a shelly one relay.

It is Z-Wave, but have you looked at using the Z-Wave Aeotec ZW078? We added support for it in Indigo 7.4.1. In general I find Z-Wave the protocol and the hardware to be pretty reliable (more so than Insteon).

So I would need to get both the unit and a Z-wave receiver for my PC to go with the existing 2413U

I am in the same boat.

I think the best solution is to use a In-LineLinc On/Off Switch or a Shelly switch to control a 30 amp contractor (with a 110 volt coil). This is pretty much what the 2477 is.

The contactor is cheap and the switches are cheap too. Most contactors will fit in the original case.

Yes, that one should be fine.
Keep in mind you need a neutral wire to give 110v for the switching device and the coil. The neutral wire may or may not be already there.

Yes, I think lots of folks use Insteon (2413U) and Z-Wave (Z-Stick, etc.) together. Z-Wave has some really nice and inexpensive multisensors / motion sensors.

Re: Insteon 2477SA2 replacement

I got away from the insteon load controllers running my pool pump because the vegas summer heat was causing issues. My replacement was some zwave on/off modules that were then wired to some contractors with 120vac coils. It is now super reliable. Automation direct has some pretty cheap contractors.

Re: Insteon 2477SA2 replacement

I finally replaced the Insteon controller (it had stopped working anyway and I hardwired the 230V breaker to just be on until I was ready). I went with the Packard - DP301202 C230B 2 Pole 30 Amp Contactor, 120 Voltage Coil (link below). I ran a new wire with line and neutral from a fresh breaker to the contractor and used a Shelly Plus One relay to turn the 230 on/off. The Packard fit (barely) in the old 2477SA2 box). Works great!
