Dimmer + bathroom exhaust fan

Hey All-

I'm going to be installing a dimmer switch in my bathroom to control the lights, at the same time I was planning on replacing the switch that controls the bathroom exhaust fan at the same time. I have several insteon dimmer switches available (2477D), is using a dimmer for the exhaust fan a particularly good or bad idea?

This internet forum suggests that it is ok, but they don't mention insteon devices:

I can obviously get a 2477S if needed, but I wanted to try this out for a bit to see if I wanted the control to be insteon/indigo powered, or if I wanted to install a dumb switch with a humidity sensor and timer...

Thanks,
Jason

Re: Dimmer + bathroom exhaust fan

For what it is worth, I used a dimmer for a few months, no noticeable problems. I set them to have a ramp rate of 0.1 (the lowest possible), and I don't think anyone in the house actually did anything besides 100% on purpose...

I eventually swapped the dimmer out for a switch since that seems like a better idea in general.
