Insteon 2450 I/O Setup/Help

I am attempting to connect an Insteon 2450 I/O module to a Dakota Alert WR-3000 receiver,. The receiver has three terminals labeled NC, NO, and COM. The I/O Sensor has 6 pins ( 5V, GRD, Sense, NC, Com and NO) pins. I assumed that I would connect a wire from NO on the WR-3000 to the sense pin on the 2450, but indigo does not receive any indication that the WR-3000 was triggered. I do not see any ground on the receiver to connec a wire from ground to ground?

I am sure I am dong something wrong...

Ok solved. Hooked up the Receiver NC to sense on 2450 and the receiver COM to GRD on 2450.

Re: Insteon 2450 I/O Setup/Help

This should work assuming your have you transmitter and receiver paired and working. I drew it to relay number 4 but any relay from 2-4 will work, don’t hook it up to 12v output or it will damage the I/O module. Don’t forget to cycle the receiver off and on if you make any changes to anything on the receiver. The receiver doc is not very detailed but to be safe I would stay away from relay number 1 and the 12v output.

Don’t forget to adjust you dip switches for the relay you decide to connect to.

This is how I have it connnected. The only problem is that I have DIP switches 9 and 10 on so that means that it should send info over relay 1. Why did you suggest to stay away from Relay 1?

Relay number one is likely OK, but the documentation is so abrievated I could not be 110% sure the 12v is totally isolated from it. So the way you have it connected now do you hear the classical tone when the transmitter fires?

Another test you can run is disconnect the two wires from the receiver and then touch the two wires together. You should get the signal from the I/O module at Indigo to see if that part is working properly.

Yes I hear the classic time and indigo shows event as closed occurring. I can trigger others event so seems to be working fine as Ihave it. I talked with Dakota the other day and Ithink 12 v is separate from all relays 1-4
