Re: Is Google home supported yet.

We're working on our backend systems now to enable OAuth2 (first step). We'll also need to do some non-trivial work on the Indigo Server to make sure that the end-to-end flow is secure. Once we do that, then we (or a 3rd party developer) will need to build the Alexa skill and the Google Home equivalent to use the new flow.

No ETA yet because of the amount of work left to do, but we are actively working on it.

Re: Is Google home supported yet.

I've been noodling around about this, so it's great to hear it's being worked on.

At a guess - is the idea to make a user's Indigo Server do the OAuth2 work, and "just" proxy/multiplex that through your servers?

Re: Is Google home supported yet.

FWIW, I definitely plan on doing something with Google Assistant / Home whenever the OAuth server is available -- I've been reading and bookmarking plenty of articles on it as I receive them in the developer newsletters. Seems we can do some pretty cool things including some limited integration with the Smart Display devices. Those can't run DomoPad, but you can present limited UI elements, such as lists of cards for selection of display (e.g. if you don't know the name of the action group, could ask "What action groups are available?" and have it list to be clicked on. Perhaps not that exactly, but you get the idea).

I even considered putting up my own temporary OAuth2 server (for me and/or others to use & test the actions with) using one of the existing Open Source implementations, but if the work is being done on it, will probably hold off...

Jay,
We really need a solution to this.
As slick as Indigo is, it attracts people who are willing to tinker.
I'd bet there is a lot of overlap between Indigo tinkerers and Google Assistant fans.
(My friends who love Alexa don't have patience to tinker.)
What's the ETA for Google Assistant integration?

I agree 100%. Been a user for over a decade, and this is the first time I've ever really missed something to the point of looking at alternatives. Any update would be appreciated!

Re: Is Google home supported yet.

OAuth authentication is still high on the priority list and being worked on. Doing it right while maintaining security is a priority for us.

Re: Is Google home supported yet.

One alternative right now is to have a HASS instance connected to indigo via my MQTT plugin (shameless plug lol)

HASS has a Google Assistant authentication.

I, personally use SmartThings for this purpose.

jh71283,

Can you write up specific instructions on how to set this up, and what the limitations or issues might be?

I just got notification from this thread.

Hass with mqtt has replaced indigo for me. It's superb. Google integration, full nest control, so much more
