What specific functionality are you wanting?

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but what is the current functionality of the 2868-222? Is it anything more than:

ON= Siren starts?
OFF= Siren stops?

Does anyone own one? Please share your usage.

I thought these was a way of outputting to it to have a lower or higher volume sound. Also the box said Siren with selectable tones.

There is a way to change it between a 120db siren and a "pleasant chime". I assume you could send a raw Insteon command to control that, as per the docs: http://cache.insteon.com/developer/2868 ... 816-en.pdf

It seems to me that Indigo currently only supports one of the two alarms at a time. Or at least the documentation isn't clear on how to do it. I'd like to be able to do a chime (more pleasant noise) when something is first detected and then go to an alarm (obnoxious noise) some time later. Or maybe a series of short chimes for a period followed by an alarm. Also on the install screen (see the attached picture) in mentions "send power link button press" which seems to be unnecessary, unless I'm missing something.

Here's a link to the documentation: http://cache.insteon.com/documentation/2868-222-en.pdf

I own one. I'm hoping to use it to replace my hardwired alarm. I'd like it to warn with a chime when a door/motion sensor is activated and switch to an alarm if it's not reset.

Currently Indigo can turn the siren ON and OFF. Smarthome recently sent us the developer documentation for the siren – looks like it is the same 77 page (!!) PDF that Bollar linked to above. It does look like is has several settings, including choosing between a ding-dong chime sound versus the 120db siren. We'll be investigating better support for it.

when I saw that Indigo7 supported these devices I bought some and upgraded to the new version. These look like very useful devices, and selectable alarms integration for doorbells vs intrusion/smoke detector would be great

Hi there,

Any update on when we will be able to use Indigo to configure audible alerts and arm and disarm the device?

Thanks,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

This is still on our request list, but I don't have an ETA as to when we'll get to it.

Add another person waiting on being able to select between chime & siren.

1. I would like to be able to arm/disarm the siren from Indigo to control when the various sensors trigger the alarm or chime once they've been linked
2. I 'd like to be able to have Indigo be able to either trigger a chime or an alarm based on logic in the trigger.

Thanks!
