What's the difference, besides the outlet on the front, between the 2414U and the 2814U.

It does not have a pass-through outlet as you noticed, and has a green LED instead of white. They should both work equally well with Indigo.

Nope, Indigo does not support the serial version. I had it hacked into a debug build at one point, but am not planning on adding it to the release version. I don't think it would be worth the overhead of the additional QA needed to make sure Indigo works correctly with it.
