Clear delayed actions from action group

I have two EZFlora controllers, I have an action group setup to execute 4 schedules when I trigger it. First one goes through all zones 45 minutes, then the next one goes, then the third one and finally the fourth one. I have delays set so the 2nd, 3rd and 4th schedules trigger at the appropriate times, which means when it is executed it creates 3 delayed action schedules.

On my control page I have a Stop button that will stop all active zones on both controllers so I can shut the whole thing down. However, when I do that, it leaves the delayed action jobs, which means it will kick on those other controllers when the time comes. Since the delayed action jobs are randomly named, I can't kill them (at least I think). Is there a way to stop everything associated with the action group and clear those delayed actions?

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

It depends on how you execute the action group: if it starts from a trigger or schedule then you can remove them with the Remove Delayed Actions action and selecting the appropriate schedule/trigger. If you start them manually (by directly executing the action group) you can delete them by selecting Remove all delayed actions rather than specifying the trigger or schedule - of course, if there are other unrelated delayed actions those will also get cancelled.

Ahh, cool, I missed that server actions, looks like I can set it at the device level, so that's great.

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

Is this still the case? Is there still no way of removing delayed actions from an Action Group other than to Remove all delayed actions or has this now been fixed since 2013?

My Action Group actions are scripts with delay starts as adding python sleep commands ties-up Indigo. Currently I set a variable such that the scripts abort at the start if not needed to run, but this doesn't fair for a clean event log.

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

May we ask a feature request to delete a delayed action from a specific Action Group?

For example; we have an auto mower which we control via the beautiful XML plugin and after 40 minutes a delayed action from this Action Group sends the mower back to his base.
But sometimes we want to cancel this job and every time we have to delete manually all the delayed actions (5) from this group.
With an extra Action Group which can delete all the delayed actions from this specific group our Indigo-life would be a lot easier :D

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

How is your action group triggered? There are actions to remove delayed actions from Triggers and Schedules.

As said;
"and after 40 minutes a delayed action from this Action Group"
(For example an XML command after 40 minutes to send the mower home )

To be clear; no delayed Triggers or Schedules.

Was the original action group part of a Trigger or Schedule?

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

Yes, I know that the delays are from actions in an Action Group. My question is HOW is the action group executed? Do you do it manually (by clicking/tapping on it in a UI) or is it run from a Trigger/Schedule?

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

sorry for the misunderstanding;

This Action Group is executed manually via a control page button.
(And then 40 minutes later 4 other actions will be executed)

Thanks for your support.

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

I would stop using delayed actions in the initial action groups. Use Timer devices (Timers and Pesters plugin) instead for the subsequent group, and start the timer from the first group. Then your "Stop" group can just stop the timer(s).

Re: Clear delayed actions from action group

Thank you very much for your thoughts and support, that is appreciated.
Was hoping that this feature will be solved in the standard future Indigo versions but this solution is definitely worth a try.

Thanks!

John
