Include and Move

Since Z-Wave creates a mesh of the included devices, what happens if you include a device at location A and then move the device to location B?

Does the network self-heal?
Do I need to do something in Indigo to update the mesh when devices are moved?

Re: Include and Move

You should resync it in its final location.

Re: Include and Move

There is an Optimize function that you can initiate from Indigo. You'll find it at Interfaces > Zwave > Optimize Network.

I schedule this process every morning at 4AM.

Does you r network change frequently? I optimize mine once a month just as a housekeeping thing or when I add/move a device.

Thanks interesting, why do you feel the need to perform that daily?

Re: Include and Move

Unless your network changes frequently, it's actually more of a risk running network optimization frequently because it can cause other standard device communications to fail so you might get out-of-date status information or a failed automated control.

If you find that you need to do the optimization frequently, then there is something else going on.
