Best way replacing a Z-Wave device?

We want to replace a door/window sensor for a Fibaro Smart implant with extra magnet contacts. It's a more reliable solution than battery powered sensors.
So, we add the Smart Implant to the Z-Stick and did a resync of the Indigo Sensor device with the new selected Smart implant.
But now the Smart implant has a battery status in the Indigo device window and that is not possible at all. And beside this, the Implant responds well but for example the option; "Poll device state, every hour" doesn't work. Last state doesn't change every hour.

We have seen this before that old features are added to a completely different device.

- Should the resync be done differently?
- How do we get the battery status removed now?
- How can we change the Poll device state?

We can of course delete this Indigo device and start over, but then 30 Triggers have to be adjusted..

As a hack that might work, try changing the device type to an X10 relay switch type, close the device dialog, then re-open it and change it back to Z-Wave and re-sync it against the previous node ID already included in the Z-Wave controller. That will hopefully prune the leftover Z-Wave meta data that is causing the glitches.

Thanks for the hint Matt.
Sorry to say but it's forbidden to change this Z-Wave device to a X10 device.
See screen dump below.
Can you tell us how it is possible that this can happen sometimes?
Thanks.

It can happen because there is a bug.

The only workaround in this case, since the device is a "grouped device", is to follow the instructions and re-create a new "clean" device and assign your existing triggers/schedules to it.

Thanks for the feedback.
Let's hope this bug is fixed in the next version of Indigo.

The problem is there is lots of meta data associated with Z-Wave devices, some of which needs to be migrated to replacement devices but some of which should be cleared and adding the logic to handle all of the cases is non-trivial. The bug is on our list, but it won't be fixed in the next version.
