ZSE29 Outdoor Motion Detector-changing settings or parameter

I am trying to read or change the parameters for the Zoos Outdoor motion detector ZSE29. In the settings for the device all the settings are greyed out: (see screenshot below)

When I try to query the parameters I get a message that the device may be asleep (see screenshot)

What am I doing wrong? How do I change the settings?

Those UI options being grayed out mean the sync of the device didn't complete successfully. This could be a range issue, or the module might have gone to sleep before it could complete. Check the instructions for the ZSE29 to see if they have details on how to keep it awake. Sometimes a button tap sequence or removing (and replacing) the batteries for a few seconds will keep it awake for a while. Try re-syncing it while keeping it awake to see if the UI then enables.
