LinearLink LB60Z-1 not working after upgrade to 2021.2.0

Hi,

I'm somewhat certain that my inability to contact/include a long-working LED bulb started right after I updated to 2021.2 from 2021.1 (the beta version that fixed the Monterey issue). I cannot Include it following the usual steps, just get "failed to assign return route" errors when I try to use the existing, or a new, Node ID.

Maybe it's just gone bad at the wrong moment. However when I turn it off/on four times it goes into Inclusion mode, and Indigo assigns it a new Node ID, so some amount of communication is happening. The rest of the network seems fine.

Any ideas what could cause that?

Try the following:

1) Exclude the bulb.
2) Move the bulb to a lamp in the same room as your Indigo Server.
3) Include the bulb and try to re-sync it.

Presuming it fails, copy/paste the Event Log results of the inclusion and re-sync attempt into a reply post for me.

Hi Matt,

Unfortunately, that didn't work. Here are the logs:

Jan 29, 2022 at 9:28:41 PM
Z-Wave started controller exclusion mode
Z-Wave controller excluded module
Z-Wave stopped controller exclusion mode

Jan 29, 2022 at 9:29:35 PM
Z-Wave started controller inclusion mode
Z-Wave controller included module: 031 - Dimmable Power Switch
Z-Wave stopped controller inclusion mode
Z-Wave Syncing - started for "031 - Dimmable Power Switch"
Z-Wave Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 18, 19
Z-Wave Syncing - assigning return route to "031 - Dimmable Power Switch"
Z-Wave Error Syncing - failed to assign return route
Schedule Update Variables
Z-Wave Error Syncing - failed
Z-Wave Error Timeout waiting for "031 - Dimmable Power Switch". Module might be asleep, or is unreachable.

I also now have a couple of 'bad' nodes from doing this a few times. How do I remove them?

Re: LinearLink LB60Z-1 not working after upgrade to 2021.2.0

You can removed bad/failed nodes from the controller via the Interfaces->Z-Wave->Remove Failed Modules from Controller menu item.

I believe either your LB60Z-1 has malfunctioned or your controller has gotten into a bad state. If the LB60Z-1 is the only module you cannot exclude/re-include/re-sync, then I think it is likely the problem. If you see the same problem with other modules, then your controller (Z-Stick, etc.) might be in a bad state of malfunctioning. You can try resetting it (via the same parent menu as above), but note you'll have to exclude/re-include/re-sync all of your modules if you do so.

Thanks Matt. It seems to just be this one bulb, which will now get recycled. I appreciate you taking the time to help me troubleshoot it.
