Syncing - failed to assign return route

I'm new to Z-Wave. I am trying to add my first device. Indigo/Z-Wave stick seemed to find it during the inclusion process but fails on sync. Since the device was found during the inclusion process can I assume that the device is reachable and the problem lies somewhere else?

Thanks,
Jim

Z-Wave Syncing - started for "002 - Dimmable Power Switch"
Z-Wave Syncing - retrieved module neighbors list: - none -
Z-Wave Syncing - assigning return route to "002 - Dimmable Power Switch"
Z-Wave Error Syncing - failed to assign return route
Z-Wave Error Syncing - failed
Z-Wave Error No response from "002 - Dimmable Power Switch". Module might be asleep, or is unreachable.

Re: Syncing - failed to assign return route

A couple of suggestions:
1) If the device is a simple plug-in or battery device, bring it to your z-stick and retry
2) Exclude the device and then re-include it.

Running Indigo 2023.2 on a 24" iMac M1), OS X 14.4

Re: Syncing - failed to assign return route

Thanks for the ideas. It is a all dimmer so no go on number one but will definitely try number two.
