Fibaro Switch without wall switch

Hi,

would it possible to control a bulb connected to a Fibaro Switch without having in parallel the wall switch?
I would not need the wall switch.

It would mean that S1 pin will be left disconnected, but as far as I know, when switching on, it is exactly S1 contact that is toggled, or am I wrong?

Thanks
Marco

Ok, thanks, and you have no problem by switching on/off with Indigo, right?

Re: Fibaro Switch without wall switch

And how could Fibaro Switch work if S1 is not connected?

Re: Fibaro Switch without wall switch

S1 is the incoming signal from the wall switch. It doesn’t care if there’s any switch there or not.

To clarify your earlier question, it is O1 that is toggled by Fibaro - either by you changing the state of the switch connected to S1, or by an Indigo command.

Also Fibaro doesn’t (by default) directly match the O1 output to S1; that is, they are, can be and often will be out of sync to each other. This confuses some people when imagining the wiring - “the switch is off, so why is my light on?”.

Hi,

thank you for the detailed answer, and yes, you are (of course) right, it is O1 that is toggled, not S1.

Thank you
Marco
