Polling of Multi-Sensors

I have a ton of ZW100 Multi-Sensors in my house. I recently remodeled my basement and had several of them hard wired for power and recessed in the ceiling. I noticed while setting up the new ones that I have one that has an option for "Status Polling". My other motion sensors do not have this option. I do not see a status request button in the Indigo client. What does this option do?

Re: Polling of Multi-Sensors

That's a standard UI control for Z-Wave devices. Older Z-Wave devices required polling because of litigation between Sigma and Lutron. Newer devices generally don't need polling. We added that checkbox so that Indigo could attempt to poll out status from the old devices that didn't support broadcast updates. The default behavior now is that Z-Wave devices send out a message that says "something has changed" and Indigo in response sends a message to get the status. That's what the "Only When Activity Detected" option is for.
