controller failed to enter inclusion mode

I am trying to add a device to my aeotech wave controller and I get the message "controller failed to enter inclusion mode" when I try to start inclusion mode. Does this mean the controller is failing? Do I need to reset the controller?

I don't recall ever hearing of a controller failing to enter exclusion mode. Try unplugging it for a few minutes to see if that gets it working.
