Re: new model z-stick Gen 5+

I think that is the existing Gen 5 Z-Wave plus z-Stick. Just checked mine and the model number is ZW090-C :)

O - I have one that is Gen5 but not the plus - if this has been out for a while I must have just missed it - wonder if it would work better than the one I have?

It’s a new updated version with some modifications for Raspbery Pi 4 compatibility.
The “old” version did not work with it.
It’s something the Home Assistant and OpenHab community have been asking for for a while.

What issues are you having with your current stick?

No problems - just interested in understanding if any new capabilities or security would come with updating my stick :-)

Any guesses when a Gen 7 stick will be available?

Any big differences from an Indigo perspective from the 2nd gen z-stick?

Re: new model z-stick Gen 5+

Indigo doesn't have any new customer visible features for either the Z-Stick Gen5+ or Z-Stick 7, but Indigo 7.5 (release coming soon!) will be compatible with both of them. There is some under-the-hood Z-Wave network health information Indigo is reading from both, but the results are not yet exposed in Indigo's UI (or API).

From my testing the Z-Stick 7 appears a bit faster than previous versions. On a somewhat related note, Indigo 7.5 also includes some general Z-Wave performance and reliability improvements (not Z-Stick specific). One downside, however, to the Z-Stick 7 is that it requires the SI Labs serial driver. I much prefer the usbmodem driver then Gen5 uses since that is included by Apple and tends to be very robust across macOS updates.
