Building a new house, will be much easier to use the latest z-wave implementation.

Reference USB sticks based on the latest chipset (700, UZB-7, SLUSB7000A) are already available, really cheap (20-30$).
But it looks like the new interface communication (Z/IP) is enforced (but some reports that you can use it in the legacy mode as well).

Any development in that direction? New version - a lot of advantages over 500 and 300.

I don't think that's right: according to the Z/IP docs:

Z/IP is a UDP/IP wrapper for Z-Wave command classes.

But the communication is still through the serial API - Z/IP is just bridge software that connects the serial interface to a standard TCP/IP network (using UDP rather than TCP). The USB devices themselves should still use the Z-Wave serial protocol. Otherwise, the USB connection wouldn't be necessary and the interface itself would have to have some kind of TCP connection (WiFi or ethernet, etc).

At least, I've yet to read anything different. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean that Indigo works with those new serial (USB) interfaces because the serial protocol may have changed...
