recommendations when upgrading from z-wave usb stick

I was thinking of upgrading my Z-Wave USB stick. I was looking at the Samsung SmartThings Hub vs Hometroller Pro. The Hometroller was attractive because I could replace some of my other controllers but at over $800, I'm reluctant to try and fail.

Any recommendations?

Not sure why you feel the need to "upgrade" from the z-wave usb stick. I've got the current version of the z-wave stick and it does everything I need through Indigo.

Can you give us a use case for going down a different route without Indigo?

Good question. Here was my thinking in priority order:

- too much time on my hands (smile)
- HomeTroller looks like it can consolidate my x10 and Z-Wave so I can get rid of my x10 controller (I only have a few X10 devices left; mostly relays)
- Samsung TV's throughout the house so there are a few "novelty" things I can use the SmartThings for
- Set up geofencing

For me adding extra propriety hubs would be a downgrade rather than upgrade.
