Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I'm afraid we don't have a release timeline (and generally we don't pre-announce when releases will happen since our estimates can be wildly inaccurate), but we are actively working on it.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I was curious about this device so I went ahead and picked one up. I threw together a quick prototype to understand what others have reported. I plan to use this one to control our HVAC humidifier (especially since this will run off 12v DC). I will probably pick up another to control our attic exhaust fan (which is embarrassingly using a corded appliance module now).

Knowing this will work perfectly well with the next release of Indigo, you can still use it now as a 2 relay device (relays 2 and 3) using the standard relay profile that Indigo selects. By capturing Z-Wave packets, it should be easy to use all 3 relays. It has some nice parameters including support for different kinds of switches, garage door mode, etc.

My only complaint so far is that the screw terminals are inaccessible once the device is mounted (which isn't a deal breaker for me).

Off topic but what are all these breadboards you keep coming up with?

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I'd recommend that everyone have a prototyping kit for stuff like this. I've used it for Z-Wave devices, rPIs, Arduinos, and other things. It's great for trying different setups with minimal effort. To directly answer the question, this one came with a kit I grabbed off Amazon. Something like this. That's not the exact one I got, but many of the components are the same. I've only had mine a couple years, and I shouldn't have waited so long to get it.

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

I have had this device since July and can not use it with Indigo as needed until all relay functionality is supported.

Respectfully,

Why is the support of new hardware so cumbersome?

Not announcing Software Updates until ready - great policy
Tying relatively quick and easy to build device configurations only to Software Releases - not such a great policy when updates come once every long while

I would like to a new approach, perhaps device configurations being able to be added independent of the version (configurations added in a similar manner to the plugins workflow) or mini updates posted as the configurations are created.....

Re: Zooz MultiRelay ZEN16

Indigo 7.5 is now available and includes support for the Zooz Multi Relay (ZEN16).
